Thank you for considering us to support you in your health journey. The process is simple and from start to delivery usually takes about a week.

1. Get started on our site: Complete checkout and a quick medical assessment.
2. Request review: A licensed provider reviews your assessment, typically within 24-48 hours, and prescribes if appropriate. We currently do asynchronous reviews, meaning there are no live appointments to schedule or wait for. You may chat with your provider for any clarifications.
3. Pharmacy prepares and ships: Your prescription goes to one of our partner pharmacies, who will process your order for 3-5 business days and ship it cold to your door with 1- or 2-day shipping.

Continuing at or near your current dose is a very common case that we accommodate, however the final call is always going to be based on your PreventiveMD provider’s review of your overall medical history.

How we accommodate this: when you get started from our website, you will fill out a form that asks about your GLP-1 history and what dosing you'd prefer, if any. You may also upload your previous prescription so your provider can review your request with ease.

Checkout places a temporary pre-authorization, not a charge. Your card is only charged after your provider approves your order. If it isn’t approved, the hold is released and you’re never charged a cent.

Heads-up: bank apps often display the hold as an “approved transaction,” which is normal. That’s the hold, not a charge.

No labs are required, and we don't order them, since we're not a full replacement for a primary care provider. However, you're welcome to share any recent labs with your provider on your care portal.

Eligibility isn't decided by any single number: your provider reviews your full medical history and overall health picture, and makes an individual determination.

PreventiveMD's services are available in most U.S. states. We're not yet available in:

• Arkansas
• District of Columbia
• Kansas
• Mississippi
• New Jersey
• New Mexico
• South Dakota
• West Virginia
• Wisconsin

We're completing telehealth requirements in these states and don't yet serve U.S. territories or patients outside the United States.

For our compounded medications, yes every dose is the same price, and no, there are no hidden fees. Our pricing is based on your plan length, never your dose, and is designed to be simple and not gimmicky.

Whether you’re on a starting dose or a higher maintenance dose, your price stays the same, and it’s all-inclusive: provider review, medication, supplies, shipping, and ongoing support. There are no membership, consultation, or cancellation fees.

Longer plans come at a lower monthly rate and are paid upfront, and you can always see current pricing for every medication and plan on our site.

Our pricing is flat across all plans today, and there’s no increase planned.

To be straight with you though, this is a fast-moving industry, and we won’t promise a price is locked forever when we can’t control everything that shapes it.

What we will promise is this: if pricing ever changes, you’ll hear it from us directly and well in advance, with enough time to decide whether to stay with us.

We don’t run promotions or marketing gimmicks. We keep pricing simple, transparent, and low from the start.

Most of the protocols we offer aren’t covered by insurance, and we don’t bill insurance directly. HSA and FSA cards are accepted at checkout.

If you’d like to seek reimbursement, we can provide a Letter of Medical Necessity and itemized receipt you can submit to your insurer or HSA/FSA, though we can’t guarantee coverage. Please email us at hello@preventivemd.com to request this.

You’re charged only when your provider approves and prescribes.

If you'd like to cancel for whatever reason, you may do so before it is sent to our partner pharmacy and receive a full refund.

We work with two trusted 503A compounding pharmacies: Empower Pharmacy and Boudreaux’s New Drug Store. Where both are licensed in your state, the choice is yours: now selectable directly at checkout, and you can ask us to switch pharmacies for you later on.

• Empower Pharmacy is able to ship to all U.S. states except California, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
• Boudreaux's New Drug Store is able to ship to all U.S. states except Arkansas, Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Virginia, and West Virginia.

All of our GLP-1 medications are compounded with a small amount of an additive, and we don't currently offer an additive-free version. Here's exactly what each contains:

Empower Pharmacy

• Tirzepatide with niacinamide (a form of vitamin B3)
• Semaglutide with cyanocobalamin (a form of vitamin B12)

Boudreaux's New Drug Store

• Tirzepatide with glycine (an amino acid)
• Semaglutide with glycine (an amino acid)

If you have a sensitivity or a preference, you can pick the pharmacy and formulation that fits at checkout

It depends on your pharmacy’s beyond-use date (BUD):

• Empower Pharmacy’s medications have 45–60 day BUDs, so shipments are split: your first vial ships on its own for month 1, then vials 2 and 3 ship together. This happens automatically so nothing expires, and we ship the next vials automatically so you don't run out of medication.
• Boudreaux’s New Drug Store's medications have 90-day BUDs and ships up to 3 months at once. You will receive everything at the same time.

Yes. If you have a reaction or simply prefer a different formulation, you can switch your pharmacy or medication on future shipments, even on a 6- or 12-month plan. Just reach out and we’ll arrange it with your provider.

Most medications you get at a retail pharmacy are mass-produced, with millions of identical pills made in factories.

503A pharmacies are different. They prepare medications individually, based on a provider’s prescription, for a specific patient. They’re licensed by state pharmacy boards and must follow United States Pharmacopeia (USP) quality standards, which are the same standards that govern hospital and retail pharmacy compounding.

On the other hand, 503B pharmacies work differently. They prepare medications in larger batches without a patient-specific prescription, typically supplying hospitals and clinics for in-office use. They’re registered with and inspected by the FDA under Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards.

When your PreventiveMD provider determines that a peptide is appropriate for your care, it’s prepared by one of the 503A pharmacies we work with, made specifically for you based on your prescription.

About a week end-to-end: 24–48 hours for provider review, then pharmacy processing between 3-5 business days, weekends not included. It then gets shipped to you cold, either through overnight or 2-day shipping.

Tracking arrives by email once the label is created, and you can check its status through your order status portal.

Typically in three-month batches rather than all at once. Compounded medications have a beyond-use date (BUD), so processing them three months at a time keeps every vial fresh and well within its use window. It also gives the flexibility needed for dose adjustments along the way.

Per official pharmacy guidance:

• Empower Pharmacy: stable outside refrigeration up to 7 days at 104°F, and up to 3 days at up to 140°F.
• Boudreaux’s New Drug Store: the medication can remain outside refrigeration for up to 45 days as long as it does not exceed 105°F, and should not appear cloudy when drawn into the syringe.

To prioritize your peace of mind, we’re happy to have the pharmacy’s staff call you to walk through your shipment and your concerns.

Keep it refrigerated and don't let it freeze. For travel, pack it in an insulated bag or small cooler with an ice pack. Keep it out of direct heat, and carry it in your carry-on if flying. An opened multi-dose vial should be discarded 28 days after first use to limit contamination risks.

Here's what happens each cycle:

1. A few days before your subscription renewal, we'll email you a heads up with a quick check-in form. It asks how things are going on your current medication, what dose you'd prefer going forward, and whether you'd like to make any changes to your subscription.
2. On your renewal date, we charge the card on file and send a refill request to your PreventiveMD provider for review. Please note that any dosing on your refill prescription will be decided by your provider based on their review of the details you had shared.
3. Once your provider approves it, your prescription goes to the pharmacy and your next supply is on its way.

So you can see when your renewal is (and also adjust to make it earlier or later) or request a refill, you may visit your Order & Subscription Portal.

No separate request needed. A check-in form arrives a few days before each renewal (or every time you request a refill), where you report how you’re doing and your preferred next dose. Ultimately, your provider makes the final call.

Yes, completely. Vials are filled to your exact prescribed volume, not to the top of the glass. Check the total mL printed on the sticker label. If anything still looks off, send us a photo of the label and we’ll verify it against your prescription.

Dose (mg) ÷ concentration (mg/mL) = mL to draw, then multiply by 100 for units on a U-100 syringe.

Please note that units are not comparable across pharmacies because concentrations differ, so always follow your prescription label and/or your provider's Visit Summary, which you may access from your order status portal (opens in new tab).

Reach out to your PreventiveMD Care Team so they can connect you to your provider for guidance. Your provider can prescribe anti-nausea medication (e.g., Zofran/ondansetron) to a local pharmacy of your choice, where you'll have to pay for it separately.

Yes, by default, all plans auto-renew, and you get a check-in form a few days before. You can now manage it yourself by going to your Order & Subscription Portal:

• change your renewal date and make it earlier or later
• pause auto-renewals
• cancel your subscription

Pausing auto-renewals keeps your account ready for refills as you need them. Cancelling means starting over from scratch if you decide to. Prepaid months still ship after you turn off auto-renewal.

For standard orders, you can cancel for a full refund any time before your prescription is sent to and accepted by the pharmacy. Once the pharmacy has begun fulfilling it (labeling, packaging, or shipping), it can’t be cancelled and is non-refundable except as required by law.

To request a refund, email hello@preventivemd.com within 30 days of the charge. Refunds typically reflect within 5–7 business days.

This is a known issue with Healthie, our Care Portal service provider. We escalate it and resend your activation link, and your order keeps processing normally either way. Note that we currently have two portals:

• the Healthie Care Portal (opens in new tab) for chatting with your provider (where this specific error applies to)
• the Order & Subscriptions Portal for seeing your order status and managing your subscription and refills
